Why should you book a course with me? I’ve been a Beauty Therapist for 18 years, and I’ve seen and heard it ALL.

I’m Sarah. Mum of 2 boys, from Plymouth, and with a passion for elevating education standards in the beauty industry.

I set up my first business, Eyelash Queen in 2013. A single mum with the odds stacked against me, I took the plunge and rented a room above a dentist.

There weren’t any independent trainers around at the time, only the local colleges. I got my courses accredited and taught lashes from that tiny room. Quickly outgrowing it, I moved to my first salon with an attached training room, and separated the business into two, Eyelash Queen Lash & Beauty Lounge, and Eyelash Queen Academy. I took on self employed lash technicians, training them in my methods. I was even known to train up a receptionist or 2 in lashes, totally changing their careers!

Within a couple of years, I outgrew the premises again, and had branched out into lash product supply. I moved into a 2000 square foot premises, and split my business again, launching Eyelash Queen Pro. The academy and product supply have their own floor now!

After lockdown, I made the decision to start employing staff members, and remain one of the very rare salon employers around, creating jobs and careers in an industry that has a shortage of employed positions.

After 10 years of Eyelash Queen, I made the decision to officially retire the name, and we are now known as EQ Lounge, EQ Academy, and Eyelash Queen Pro. I wanted to focus more on beauty therapy, mainly advanced treatments like electrolysis, which I’ve always specialised in.

I enjoy creating things, and love nothing better than a total rebrand, although I try not to change things too often!

I have been an independent trainer since 2013. That’s 11 years of honed teaching skills, 11 years of success stories, and 11 years of creating queens! Trained to level 4 in PTLLS (now AET) and holding a Level 3 Assessor qualification, you can be sure that you are in safe hands.

I’ll personally push you to reach your goals.

I’ve inspired hundreds of therapists – some even opening their own training academies, starting product lines and boasting full to the brim appointment books.

Sugar coating is not my bag, so if you’re after a fluffy course that just passes you whatever your skill, then we aren’t a great fit. If you’re looking for a trainer that will really flex your muscles and coax the best quality out of you, then let’s put the kettle on!
